How We do Impact

IMPACT vs FINANCIAL RETURNS

We focus on issue areas where there is both an economic and social need that creates an opportunity for at-or-above-market returns.

This means that our returns are non-concessionary in nature where neither profit nor impact takes precedence over the other

PRE-INVESTING EVALUATION

We use the Impact Management Project’s Framework to determine the level of impact created by a startup.

Our goal is to have more than 50% of the portfolio be in the “Contributes to Solutions” category.

POST INVESTMENT MEASUREMENT

We leverage the IRIS+ platform by GIIN to identify an exhaustive set of metrics. Each company gets a profile built. Afterwhich, we narrow down to 3-5 operationally relevant metrics before finalising up to 3 metrics to track with the startup’s team.

Fees

  • Placement Fee: 5%

  • Management Fees: 2% p.a. (averaged over fund life)

  • Performance Fees: 20% on profit after distributing principal and accrued hurdle
